Working with multiple disciplines of engineering students on creating Portland State’s cubesat program. Leader of our cubesat structure and mechanical engineering team. Responsible for managing git repository and addressing design questions from other members as well as onboarding and directing workflow for new members. In charge of mechanical design considerations for the Attitude Determination and Control Systems. Participate and communicate effectively in design reviews between multiple disciplines of engineering students.
Worked with engineering team members to modify existing solutions and equipment to better manufacturing margins and safety. Used Solidworks CAD software to design parts and 2D technical drawings to be sent out to suppliers to be machined. Used Lean Six Sigma methods to define and tackle new problems. Followed standard operating procedures to comply with ISO standards and ensure consistency as to meet customer expectations. Complete various chemical tests following lab standard safety procedures.
Finish parts in the manufacturing process and prepare them for final inspection. Responsible for reading and interpreting customer blueprints to ensure that parts are manufactured as ordered and have proper hardware installed. Ensure quality, consistency, and precision to meet customer specifications and adhere to manufacturing processes.
