• Development, modification, and optimization of CAD/CAM designs and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. • Developing 3D models and 2D technical drawings to a fabrication level of detail. • Automation in Autodesk Inventor using iLogic and API. • Extracting Bills of Materials from model assemblies and subassemblies. • Creating professional Nesting for manufacturing with minimal material waste and processing time. • Generate CNC programs for machining with less work time and safer machine movements and performing simulations to validate designs and processes. • Surveying and monitoring CNC operations in the factory, and ensuring organized and correct installation. • Implementation of lean manufacturing principles by identifying opportunities for waste reduction and implementing automations and process improvements in production and supply chain. • Conducting time and motion studies to analyze manufacturing operations and support Operations department by identifying areas for improvement in terms of cycle time, quality, and cost, thus increasing manufacturing efficiency. • Supporting Engineering department on coordination to effectively implement DFMA concepts. • Supporting logistics operations with maintaining track of inventory and providing labeling for stock identification and efficient warehousing. • Communicating with and coordinating efficiently with subcontractors for timely completion of jobs and delivery of materials to ensure smooth flow of supply chain in the factory. • Utilizing project management software (ClickUp) to develop project plans and timelines, and monitoring project progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to plans and successful completion. • Utilizing Oracle Manufacturing Cloud to create item structures, work definitions and work orders for all materials and manufacturing processes to help streamline production, improve quality, and reduce costs while increasing operational efficiency.

Internship responsibilities as a CAD/CAM engineer included working closely with the engineering team to support various CAD/CAM projects and optimize manufacturing processes to contribute to overall operational efficiency and productivity.

This position involves organizing and managing the effective delivery of engineering-related events within Heriot-Watt University and promoting these events appropriately, both internally and externally. I am also responsible for proposing creative ideas for new events to further familiarize the students with the IMechE and what we do. These have been in the form of talks and seminars, workshops, and engineering competitions.
