With over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, I am a seasoned commercial manager with a Master of International Law degree. I currently work as a Business Analysis Manager at ExxonMobil, where I lead a team focused on opportunity evaluation and economic analysis across the Upstream. I have a proven track record of creating value through government advocacy and creative commercial transactions, as well as negotiating resource-related agreements for conventional, unconventional, LNG, and offshore oil and gas assets. - Lead OE&A across Upstream; manage 5–6 analysts delivering decision‑grade insight. - Own analysis standards and quality control; final economic approver; enforce independent peer review. - Prioritize the pipeline with leadership; align to corporate priorities; sustain strong global stakeholder ties. - Build and run evaluation work plans; embed analysts with project/asset teams. - Frame opportunities and value (DCF/NPV/IRR, sensitivities, scenarios, value drivers) with executive‑ready visuals. - Engage senior experts to sharpen technical and commercial rigor on critical calls. - Full people leadership and planning/budget: hire, onboard, coach, performance, skills, career paths; staffing, compensation, and promotions. - Partner with Strategy, operations, and functions on integrated portfolio/corporate strategy; support portfolio reviews, investment reappraisals, and red/blue‑team challenges. - Streamline processes and analytics to deliver step‑change insights and cut cycle time.

- Supporting Imperial’s Heavy Oil assets including Kearl, Syncrude, and Cold Lake - Identify, lead and manage the commercialization of opportunities and resulting projects through to implementation - Coordinate, negotiate and execute agreements for commercialization of new opportunities - Develop commercial structure solutions to optimize value and mitigate risk - Serve as the key internal interface with senior management for commercialization of opportunities, to ensure alignment, and as necessary, obtain internal endorsement - Coordinate, develop and manage Imperial relationships with external stakeholders, including government, regulators. - Coordinate, identify and Influence improvements to fiscal, regulatory and legal frameworks - Represent Imperial in applicable external forums, as required - Develop, maintain and provide knowledge of market fundamentals, associated relevant regulations, and standard industry contracting practices
− Responsible for managing the commercial and tenure aspects of ExxonMobil’s exploration activities offshore Atlantic Canada (7 offshore exploration leases, across three separate Joint Ventures). − Lead negotiator for all commercial transactions within the business unit (Joint Operating Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Joint Bidding Agreements, Asset Assignments Agreements, Farmouts.) − Primary commercial interface with the regulator (C-NLOPB), regarding the terms of exploration licenses, ensuring ongoing compliance, and contributions to new guidelines and policy documents. − Commercial Joint Venture Rep supporting ExxonMobil’s 2019 – 2022 exploration drilling activities. Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver annual plans, budgets, AFEs, contracts and other requirements to gain the approval of the Management Committee. − Awarded ExxonMobil Commercial Advanced Skill Milestones (ASM’s) in Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy, Negotiations & Contract Development, Land Subsurface, and Land Property /Title Analysis. ASM’s are awarded to senior ExxonMobil employees who, as assessed by senior technical staff, display expertise in the underlying skill.
− Accountable for managing the JV team responsible for protecting value of APLNG’s multi-billion dollar investment in its Non-Operated fields CSG fields. − Manage multiple joint venture agreements associated with the relevant QGC and GLNG tenements (Joint Operating Agreements and Gas processing Agreements), − Responsible for engaging a virtual asset team (VAT) that oversees technical, financial, legal and HSE considerations of the joint ventures. − Accountable for the annual Capex budget ($290 M) and Opex budget ($220 M). − Manage and maintain key stakeholder relationships in the QGC and GLNG joint venture. − Negotiation of business development opportunities and JV contracts relating to the QGC and GLNG assets. − Provide early warning of any material issues or divergences from plan across the full spectrum of activities including Exploration & Appraisal, Project Development and Operation & Maintenance.
- Reporting to General Manager of Exploration and New Resources. - Part of the Senior Leadership team for group of 100+ responsible for delivering Origin's portfolio of growth opportunities. - Responsible for both APLNG and Origin's upstream tenures.
- Responsible for tenure and overlapping negotiations across 134 tenures which make up the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project. - Delivered eight Petroleum Leases (PLs), 7 Pipeline Licences (PPLs), 1 Petroleum Facility Licence (PFL) and various minor approvals (PCAs, PSLs, EPT’s) for the APLNG CSG-LNG Project. - Tendered for Authorities to Prospect (ATP- an exploration tenure) through Queensland’s Cash Bidding Process, successfully acquiring 2 ATPs resulting in an additional 425 PJs (Gas-in-place estimates). - Established a new Tenure Management business model for Origin LNG. Hired and trained 7 new staff, implemented a filing system and created a compliance database. - Engaged with Queensland government and industry peak bodies (QRC, APPEA) to push tenure reform changes, manage compliance and secure timely tenure grants. - Managed the team responsible for over 50 different overlapping tenure relationships.
- Provided commercial direction as part of the exploration and development team in the following areas: Jackfish Project (Oil Sands), Central Alberta (CBM & Cardium Oil), Saskatchewan (Viking Oil and Free- hold Leasing), Northern Alberta (Conventional & tight gas). - Negotiated wellbore and pipeline conveyances, acquisitions, farmouts, farmins, poolings, joint ventures, seismic review options and royalty agreements. - Provided expertise on government regulations and policy changes. - Identified and analysed business opportunities and key assets. - Monitored industry trends and competitor activity in focus and growth areas. - Provided leadership and co-ordinated Land Administration and Accounting to ensure contractual obligations are documented and fulfilled. - Completed bid assessment and analysis for Crown and Fee Land acquisitions. - Presented strategic initiatives and business plans to the executive team.
