About

For years, my interests and activities have been guiding me towards a prospective career in data analysis. As a result, I am currently pursuing a degree in Statistic and Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon, where I intend on maximizing my skills in data science. I have come to find that everything is related to data. My many years of experience in competitive academic debate made it clear to me that all complex political, environmental, and business related issues require strong data analysis as a prerequisite to finding a solution. The practice of gathering this data through research and communicating the implications of this data to a broad audience helped me understand the value and importance of data. Having developed this mentality, I was able to practically apply my skills as an intern with Sandalwood Power LLC, where I used my skills to automate data collection processes. I have since worked on many data analysis projects both in an academic setting and in a professional internship setting with a focus on seeing as many different aspects of the industry as possible. My career in data science is just beginning, and I am looking forward to future opportunities. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Experience

  • Summer Games Cloud Engineering Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton
    Jun 2023 - Aug 2023 · 3 mos

As a cloud engineering intern, our team was tasked with setting up a single pane of glass multi-cloud management solution. We started from scratch and designed an AWS Network that could host a cloud management tool called Kion. I learned and used terraform, an infrastructure as code tool, to stand up the AWS cloud enclave. I also learned and leveraged ansible to run yaml playbooks to secure RHEL 7 EC2 instances to DoD security guidelines. I also gained experience configuring apache instances to serve as redirect landing pages. The team created a robust codebase that will be used to build a more comprehensive solution at the conclusion of the internship. I am especially proud of this project as I was able to successfully learn and apply AWS and terraform across the course of this experience to create a useful product.

  • Summer Games ML Intern at Booz Allen Hamilton
    Jun 2022 - Aug 2022 · 3 mos

I was on a data analysis team tasked with creating a minimum viable product for a predictive and prognostic maintenance solution for machine parts. As a part of this internship, I was heavily involved in every step of the solution. I cleaned and processed 1 million+ data points and created multiple Machine Learning models using R Caret that would predict when a particular machine part would require maintenance based on sensor readings . I was also involved in creating a front end in PowerBI to present the model results to an executive team at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Data Analyst Intern at Sandalwood Power

As an intern at Sandalwood Powder, I created Excel scripts using VBA in order to process and sort hourly data from power lines. I also developed a program using python with selenium which automates gathering data from a SSL secured site.

  • Instructor at Harvard Debate Council
    Jun 2020 - Jul 2020 · 2 mos

This program is a 2 week intensive high school summer program which teaches students about the fundamentals of public forum style debate. As an instructor, I led a group of 16 students and facilitated their individual skills development. Additionally, I created and presented lectures to a camp of 250+ students. Partnering with the Harvard diversity project, my students were the first Female African American duo to win the tournament after going 10 rounds undefeated.
