• Involved and made valuable suggestions in setting up Reliance’s first specialty store in India and Subsequently rolled out three more stores in Bangalore,Chennai & Ghaziabad. Used earlier experience and analytical approach to spot trends and select the right merchandise to the right customers at the right times which lead to growth in revenues and profits. • Gained significant knowledge & experience in merchandising & floor activities, including category strategy, visual merchandising, vendor management, supply chain management, Space planning, In-season management, and pricing. • Responsible to Create, maintain manage & understand the data for sales promotions, merchandise, assortment, allocation, space, and replenishment planning and creation of opportunities. • Focused Product Category:-Flat Panels, Speciality Audio, Phones, Communication Equipments, Video, Camcorders, Cameras, Batteries, Large / small Appliances, A/C’s etc… • Responsible for training, development and retention of supervisors and associates. 1. Financial: • Achieving the revenue and gross margin per sq ft targets for the categories managed • Controlling inventory levels & shrinkage. • Facilitating customer purchase decisions that lead to moving the customer satisfactorily up the value chain resulting in a higher average transaction value per customer • Optimizing the store display stock and back-store inventory to increase the stock turns for the category • Increasing margins and minimizing expenses. 2. Operational: • Ensuring effective stock and visual merchandising including product placard/label, accurate and updated prices, special/periodic promotional offers, point-of-purchase promotional materials, sales planning etc. • Assisting customers in locating products and answering more complex technical questions as escalations from the Sales Assistants; performing the role of a product specialist for customers that require advanced technical advice.
