Once my electrical duties was completed on the Farringdon, Crossrail project I was transferred into a managerial role dealing with the interface and engagement of our end client London Underground/TfL. I also managed system-wide contractors who wanted to work within high voltage/signaling and safety-critical areas within Farringdon's East and West ticket halls.
Still based at Farringdon on the Crossrail Project, I continued to work with the electrical teams supporting the construction of two brand new ticket halls, two 250 meter in length platforms and cross passages.
Once both Tunnel boring machines completed our section of tunnelling I was transferred to Farringdon, this part of the Crossrail project was mainly excavation works, sinking shafts and SCL. I was involved with installing temporary sub stations, generators, power/lighting transformers and maintaining tunnelling machinery & welfare.
