During my work experience at British Airways as a member of their Casualty Engineering team, I had the opportunity to work closely with their newest aircraft group, Boeing 787’s and 12 Airbus A380’s which had been grounded due to technical reasons. During this time I saw that the knowledge, teamwork, passion for excellence, rigor and skills of the engineers are safety critical in the aviation industry. Being able to work as part of a team under considerable pressure diagnosing faults accurately whilst ensuring safety procedures are adhered to at all times, was something that I found really motivating.
