I am currently a Fourth-Year B. Eng. Software Engineering Student at the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University. I have experience coding in Python, Java, C, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and BASH Scripting. In addition to my technical responsibilities, I have currently been actively engaging with various companies offering IT roles to encourage their participation in many of our upcoming events. By reaching out through formal channels, I have successfully invited several industry leaders to attend and contribute to our workshops and networking events. This has not only enhanced the club’s visibility but also provided valuable opportunities for students to interact with professionals and gain insights into the data science field.
As one of the Technical Leads for the Data Science Club at York University, I manage the technical initiatives for the club including support for workshops on machine learning and data science. Our club's mission is to help students build hands-on projects while also connecting them with industry professionals. In addition, I contribute to the club’s website development using a tech stack that includes React, Bootstrap, and Node.js, ensuring it serves as a platform to showcase student projects and blog posts.
I was responsible for ensuring a seamless entry experience for over 600 guests per shift, verifying admission and parking passes, and assisting with ticket validation. This role strengthened my attention to detail, as I needed to accurately manage guest information while maintaining a high level of efficiency. I developed strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills by addressing inquiries regarding ticketing and park amenities, ensuring guests received timely and helpful responses. Additionally, I gained valuable multitasking abilities by managing both customer-facing tasks and backend processes, all while delivering a positive and welcoming environment that contributed to an enhanced guest experience.
