Presently holding a position of Assistant General Manager & posted at Kabeli-A HEPP, Nepal since 27th Feb 2017. The Project is utilization of the 35 years old Diversion Tunnel into Head Race Tunnel & generate 120MW of power using water from the existing Dam. It includes rehabilitation of the old existing structures & construction of 180.0 m long new HRT, sub- surface Power House, 64.0m deep Surge Shaft , 75.0X 180.0 m Switchyard, 500 sqm Workshop, 45.0 m long Bridge supported on piles & raft foundation on either sides & connecting National Highways to the Bridge.Land restoration before final hand over of the project.
The project is run off the river scheme. The capacity of the project is 2X38 MW on river Mandakani. The project is having 26 m high gravity Dam. Intake structure with 2 de-silting chambers. 9.38 Km long HRT up to bottom of 60m high Surge Shaft. After that there are two Vertical pressure shafts each 50.0 m & 110.0 m deep & two nos. horizontal pressure shafts. Between first HPS & second VPS there is 123.0 m long aligned pressure shaft. The Head is 448m. Discharge is 21 cumecs.
KOLDAM is 2X400 MW hydro power project situated on river Satluj with 172 m high rock fill Main dam. There are downstream & upstream coffer dams, which are now part of main Dam.It is first hydropower project of NTPC in India. The volume of clay core is 21 lakh cum. The materials used to fill the dam were categories into 10 types. No.1 being clay and No.10 rip-rap. The Project is commissioned & generating Power.
