Leitung Strategie | Wiener Stadtwerke I lead the Strategy Department of Wiener Stadtwerke, one of Austria’s largest public infrastructure groups. My team comprises 16 professionals in three teams across Corporate Strategy, ESG and selected Strategic Capability Fields (Health Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Accessibility). My primary mandate is the design and implementation of a group-level strategic framework across 11 operating companies spanning five business areas: Mobility, Energy, IT, Real Estate, and Burial/Cemetery Services. In line with the Holding’s evolving role as a management holding, this framework establishes an additional strategic layer that enhances strategic steering capability and enables coherent strategy communication at group level, informing CEO-level dialogue on strategic transformation priorities. My approach to strategy is strongly shaped by my background in organizational design and target operating model work in consulting. I view strategy and organization as interdependent: effective strategy requires structural clarity, defined governance mechanisms and implementation logic. Having worked extensively on innovation and venture-related topics, I integrate renewal, technological trends and transformation dynamics into strategic thinking in a structured and methodical way. While operating in a municipally rooted environment, I strongly value international benchmarks and peer exchange. Even where business models are locally anchored, external comparison and global dialogue remain essential sources of strategic perspective. Previously: BCG, Bain & Company, Chief of Staff to the CEO of ÖBB. Doctorate in International Business (focus: cross-border venture capital). Education in Business and Business Law (WU Vienna), with international programs at LSE and UT Austin.
