I started working at Expoline after graduating as a journalist. I operated the telephone to handle orders, worked in the warehouse to pick orders and I got to drive my own van to deliver orders in Belgium and the Netherlands. Part of my job here was updating the website. This is how I got started with digital marketing until I was eventually offered a full time marketing position.
As a researcher you're hunting for news with as many sources as available. I chased the news on the streets, in newspapers, on social media and by looking at the calendar. In every case I tried to find the right approach. How is this topic relevant for my audience? The answer to this question learned me to pitch topics into attractive story's. During my internship I've been making story's about bees, train accidents, new-born falcons and the power of the medicine industry.
