About

Back in the 80's IT was the magic word. But I was also interested in business economics so I picked an education that shared the best of both worlds. I started more than 30 years ago as a system engineer but discovered quickly that I'm a process guy: constantly looking for ways to do things better, always focused on improved services and products for customers. I have almost 20 years of hands on experience in (ITIL) service management and more than 10 years in Vendor Management. I extended my knowledge and experience with education in quality management, internal auditing, Prince II, Lean Six Sigma, Sourcing and Scrum. I was once characterised with the following profile and I think that's still valid: Hans is a friendly person who easily makes contact with others. He is highly analytical and communicates his ideas clearly. He is focused on working with others and is motivated to achieve joint results. New complex matters are quickly understood by him. He sees upcoming problems easily, has the ability to show cross references and examines issues until they are clear and concrete. Furthermore he comes with workable solutions for problems. He has a clear vision and communicates it in a transparent way. He is focused on creating cooperation, giving others the opportunity to participate. Always interested in different viewpoints and ideas. I have a broad general knowledge/interest and love to learn new things. Love to work with smaller, no nonsense companies. Also interested in something completely different from IT or Vendor Management. Being a sports fan I would love an opportunity in sports especially in speed skating or cycling. Specialties: service management, ITIL, quality management, lean six sigma, balanced scorecard, change management, incident management, configuration management, process improvement, (international) outsourcing, Service level management, SAS70, ISAE3402, Scrum, Agile, Procurement, Vendor Management

  • Service and Contract Manager at AEGON Bank
    Oct 2006 - Dec 2014 · 8 yrs 3 mos

I started at Aegon Bank as IT Change Manager. Responsible for maintaining, communicating and improving the process, planning the changes, chairing the change advisory board etc. After a few years I took up the role of Problem Manager. Problem management was done to a limited extent before that. Together with the Incident Manager and users we implemented a simple but plain process: identifying problems, controlling the process of finding root causes and workarounds and report on progress, bottlenecks, risks and improvements in the process. A couple of years later I switched to the vacant position of Service Level Manager. My focus was on a dozen of big contracts for application management and maintenance and system management, among others with Indian partners. Work consisted of: relationship management, set up of new contracts, improving existing SLA's, measuring the quality of delivered services, performing regular service meetings and reporting on all of that.
