Dr Eikaas moved to Singapore in June 2005 after completing his Ph.D. from the University of Canterbury, NZ. He then went to Anchorage, Alaska for post-doctoral work in 2006. In 2007, he joined the Public Utilities Board Singapore (PUB) as the resident principal limnologist. In PUB, he established the Waterways Health & Limnology Branch, a group of engineers and scientists looking into integrated catchment water quality management and modelling. Subsequently spent 3.5 years as HOD for two departments in DHI Singapore, Environmental Technology and Chemistry & The Ballastwater Testing and Innovation Centre. After 3.5 years with DairyNZ in the capacity of Senior Water Quality Specialist, he joined Phoslock Environmental Technologies in China, but that ended with the current corona virus crisis. Now looking for new opportunities in the regions of Asia Pacific,, Americas and Europe. Please contact me for discussion. Research interests include; biology & biogeography; effects of migratory barriers on dispersal; fisheries and aquaculture; stream, river and wetland ecology; limnology; land-use change and environmental impacts; ecosystem processes; environmental chemistry; toxicology; coastal geomorphology; and numerical water quantity and quality modelling.
Responsible for climate budgets, climate mitigation measures, and climate adaptation in the local municipality.

The SG-ETC Department is comprised of a group of scientist spanning a large range of specialties, from Wastewater Treatment, Water and Energy Auditing, Water Quality Modelling, Agent Based Modelling, Human Health, Ecological Toxicology, Ballast Water Testing, Vessel General Permit testing, Aquaculture, to Limnology and Phycology.
