Marburg an der Lahn, Hesse, Germany
After studying Biology B.Sc. in Düsseldorf and Biodiversity & Conservation in Marburg I started working as an Associate Researcher in a conservation project working with the European Turtle Dove at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. The project aims to deepen our understanding of migration routes, habitat use, population genetics, diet composition and everything that is related to the survival of this threatened species. My duties in this project include field work (catching, sampling and tagging birds with GPS transmitters), lab work (genetic and lead exposure analyses), data analyses as well as writing and publishing papers. Because the project is limited for 3 years, I am currently looking for a new job in conservation beginning from April 2026. Besides this job, I gained field experience in an environmental planning office, in a study-related excursion in Scotland as well as in an internship at a conservation project in Thailand.
