Hannes oversees the mental health portfolio at EuroHealthNet. He is the initiator and project lead of the European Commission-funded REMESOS initiative which aims to establish a common population mental health measurement tool for the EU and implement community mental health practices. Most of his other work primarily focuses on evidence-based advocacy and analysis, as well as managing projects that focus on the transfer and implementation of good practices in the field of mental health and health behaviour.

As a Research Associate at the Centre for Business Research of University of Cambridge's Judge Business School, Hannes works on research projects primarily revolving around (mental) health and policy, as well as decision-making, behavioural economics, behavioural public policy, and psychological research in general.
Hannes' research focuses on the application of evidence from behavioural science in policy. Specifically, his work contributes to R4HC-MENA (Research for Healthcare in the Middle Eastern and Northern African Region) by investigating mental health and decision-making in refugees and the general population in Lebanon.
The Director of Operations oversees general administration and Junior Researcher Programme (JRP) events, leads the development and implementation of programme policies, as well as long term organisational planning and sustainability of the programme. He assembles and structures new JRP Teams and trains new team members, supervises PR and Alumni activities, and organises at least one of the three annual inperson events. He is also responsible for the public representation and outreach of the programme together with the Executive Director.
The Deputy Director is responsible for sustainability and development of the programme. Main objectives are the creation and implementation of programme policies, the facilitation of efficient knowledge transfer, training the incoming JRP Team, and overseeing administration and archiving together with the Programme Manager. He is also in charge of the JRP Council and is involved in building long term partnerships.
The Programme Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the JRP Team, expanding the programme, as well as for communication with programme stakeholders and external partners.
Hannes coordinated EPF's contributions to multiple large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects, primarily to ensure the inclusion of patient perspectives. His current work includes the coordination of building a Patient Engagement Platform for platform trials in EU PEARL; the development of patient engagement toolkit for translational medicine within Eatris+; investigating ethics and legal aspects of blockchain in healthcare, as well as supporting the development of blockchain-enabled health and care apps in PharmaLedger; the development of a DELPHI to identify relevant patient-reported outcome measures for high-risk medical devices in CORE-MD; investigating patient involvement in Health Technology Assessment within 360 HTA; as well as supporting the organisation of the Patient Engagement Open Forum.
Coordination of nine large-scale randomised controlled trials and one quasi-experimental study at the Home Affairs and Social Policy Group, including: risk assessment, research planning and design, streamlining, data management, quantitative data analysis, ethics, contact with external stakeholders and clients, budgeting, project oversight, and general research tasks.
