Technical lead for engineering materials going into tribological applications. Leading a team developing new products, supporting manufacture of existing products and qualifying materials for new applications. Technical oversight of manufacturing site move, including: technical qualification of manufacturing and testing at the new site; knowledge transfer and training the new Technical team; project management and planning.
Worked on new product development projects spanning a number of product areas across the business, including high-temperature gas filtration, rotor vanes, ceramics and cermets.
Playing songs that get everyone dancing at weddings and events. Liaising with clients to give them the best possible experience. Making sure the other musicians are at the right place at the right time!
Two summer placements identifying ways to improve the mechanical properties of superconducting coils, and building a test system to measure losses in superconducting wire due to alternating magnetic fields.
Designed and built a pellet detection system that was installed on the MAST tokamak to assist in research during two weeks’ work experience.
