The creator of "How That Works with Hank Baugh", a platform where the mechanics of everyday objects—from small engines to home and automotive repairs are demystified. With a foundation in engineering, automation and industrial maintenance, I bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and accessible education. In other words, I can usually tell you "How That Works". Through engaging videos and hands-on demonstrations, I aim to make those daunting repairs or unexpected disasters something that you can take care of yourself with a little help from me. With over 400 videos and counting, where there is a need, I probably have something to help you figure out the most cost effective answer. I also throw in a few short form videos just for fun. I work as a project and maintenance manager; Currently in the blown film industry, but have extensive experience in injection molding, tooling, automation, cost estimation, engine and transmission manufacturing, industrial electronics, FDA regulated industries like medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Maintenance & Automation Manager Duties Manage activities of maintenance,automation and tooling departments of a 3 shift 5 day injection molding operation. Responsible for hiring of all maintenance techs, trainees and MRO crib / CMMS administrator. Create capital and expense budgets for each fiscal year.Track and report out on companywide capital spending. Responsible for all production equipment as well as facility and grounds maintenance. Plan for equipment replacement - acquire quotes for new equipment and make decisions based on total delivered cost, budget, and long-term cost of operation. Manage all contractors working in the facility. Cost Estimating Supervisor / Project Manager Duties: Managed a wide variety of projects ranging from building expansions and major equipment purchases to office renovations. Work with our customers to bring awarded work into the facility starting with the quoting process, following through with part design reviews, oversaw tool and equipment builds, attend molding trials and facilitated a smooth ramp up into production. Set up benchmarks for historical and new business opportunities to continuously improve the quoting process and quote turnaround time. My team continuously worked to offer the best value among our competitors in quality and price while being careful to ensure the business remained profitable on both new and current projects.
Gave direction and support to skilled tradesmen including Electricians, Millwrights, Pipefitters and Machine Repairmen while working within the boundaries of the collective bargaining unit agreements with the UAW.Maintained time and attendance for all departmental employees.Assisted in overcoming obstacles which may exist for departmental teams.Evaluate performance/capabilities of personnel within a departmental team and initiate necessary counseling / training / discipline to obtain the optimum effectiveness of the employees and department(s).Worked closely with the “customer” to establish goals and priorities that met his/her business needs and ultimately those of VPT NA.Maintained work orders in the CMMS (SAP) & compared logged hours to payroll hours daily.Lead a successful operational development team and reported out on project progress.Participated in new equipment buy-off process.Perform Project Management duties as needed.
