Third-year undergraduate Microbiology student in the University of Michigan's Honors Program minoring in Statistics and Spanish. Passionate about researching bacterial-based therapeutics for intestinal cancer development and educating the next generation in STEM.
Chosen among thousands of applicants as a recipient of the Amgen Scholarship to conduct research at the California Institute of Technology under Dr. Smruthi Karthikeyan.
I have been working in the Advanced Biotherapeutics Laboratory under PI Dr. Jiahe Li as an assistant in various projects pertaining to developing live cell-based therapeutics. Specifically, I am working on in situ silencing of colibactin using an engineered bacteria delivered in the gut. This technology will reduce the colonization of pks+ E. coli and the onset and development of tumorigenesis.
I assist students in lectures, grade their work, and coordinate with professors in the course STATS 250 at the University of Michigan.
