I am a physician executive, attorney, and healthcare leader serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Baylor Scott & White Health’s DFW West Region. My responsibilities span three hospitals, more than 100 care sites, approximately 1,127 licensed beds, and an employed network of 299 physicians and 126 advanced practice professionals. The region supports more than 52,000 annual admissions, 187,000 emergency visits, 11,700 births, and 554,000 outpatient visits. I partner with hospital presidents, nursing leaders, operational executives, and physician leaders to improve quality, patient safety, access, physician alignment, clinical operations, and service-line growth. My clinical portfolio includes cardiovascular care, transplantation, cancer, women’s services, neurosciences, surgery, trauma, emergency care, and graduate medical education. My leadership approach centers on kindness with accountability. Leaders must listen, communicate truthfully, set clear expectations, measure progress, and change direction when evidence supports a better solution.
