About

"The calm, safe pair of hands driving governance and managing risk" With experience as a NED and as a freelance production accountant at Pure Alba Maji, I specialize in delivering financial management and accounting solutions for high-end television and film productions. My work is grounded in my credentials as a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and enhanced by over 20 years of experience and expertise in business strategy, project management, and risk governance. I am committed to providing tailored financial strategies and supporting sustainable development initiatives. I am actively building a NED portfolio in Scotland - aiming to work with businesses embedded in and adjacent to Film and HE-TV entities. My professional journey includes international and impactful roles across diverse sectors, including managing a $65.1 million malaria prevention project in Africa and offering interim finance support to SMEs during challenging economic periods. Drawing on a career that spans public service, NGOs, and private enterprises, I strive to blend financial acumen with a mission to empower organizations addressing global challenges.

Experience

  • Film & HE-TV Production Accountant & Financial Controller & NED at Pure Alba Maji Limited
    Nov 2019 - Present · 6 yrs 9 mos

I am searching for NED roles in Scotland - with focus on businesses linked with Film and HE-TV. Pure Alba Maji is now offering freelance Production Accountant service to High-End TV and Film productions. This follows successful completion of the AITP - ScreenSkills transfer programme, and work on eleven productions. I am also offering Interim Finance Director support to SME businesses following the Covid-19 and cost of living crises. On a pro-bono basis, Alba Maji will support development projects in Africa, initially in WASH and Malaria. My skills as an internal auditor, implementation manager, and financial reporting expert are available now to the development and NGO community. The Alba Maji water filter project was postponed due to Covid-19 after initial start-up mode preparation. A focused micro grant development business was being launched to create capacity establishing local ceramic water filter production. The filters produced were planned to be low cost, low tech, highly efficient solutions to the nightmare faced by so many African urban poor communities. Alba Maji will in future become an exciting development to help people help themselves with dignity.....when the time is right! Alba Maji will also explore skills transfer to African Film and HE-TV projects supporting development for productions in Africa.
