Throughout his career Gunnar has placed himself at the intersection of business and technology. Gunnar started managing technology projects at Microsoft with Loft9. He then had the opportunity to be part of the founding team and a Product Manager at the web based logistics start-up, EquaShip. Seeking to expand his skill-set, Gunnar then stepped into web development as an independent entrepreneur, where he was able to help small businesses realize their strategic goals. After several years, Gunnar is excited to engage larger organizations and make a greater impact at Loft9. Gunnar’s experience has provided him with a customer centric view and strategic insights that he uses while working with clients and guiding projects. Gunnar understands business needs and can translate them into sound technology decisions. Gunnar has an ATA in Web Development, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, University College with a B.S. in Management Studies and then a B.S. in Computer Science. He graduated with honors from St. John’s University’s Rome Campus, earning a Finance MBA with a thesis on Entrepreneurial Finance.

Managed and delivered a variety of website projects from mock-up and wireframe creation, client feedback to launch and post launch support. Created sites to specifications including custom coded HTML5/CSS3 sites as well as Wordpress and ASP.net sites. Provided custom UI elements and interaction using JavaScript, jQuery, and dynamic pages using PHP and MySQL.
Member of the EquaShip leadership team providing data, information and suggestions supporting key business decisions. Worked closely with shipping and software vendors to address customer demands. Implemented a system for identifying and tracking issues and requests, marshaling them to resolution. Managed development of EquaShip website by scoping business rules and requirements with the executive management team and working with engineers to implement features satisfying them. Managed and coordinated all aspects of an office move on a limited budget one month after onboarding, including required tenant improvements and the build-out of office IT infrastructure. Performed key Human Resource functions including benefit and payroll administration.
