About

Feedstocks Supply/Trading Operator Aspirant | Supply Ops Enthusiast | Reliability & Technical background ⚙️ 💡 10 years' experience in various Refinery/Chemicals teams 🤝, 5 assignments 🖐️, 2 awards 🏅, 1 passion for Supply & Operations Analytical, Organisation & Cross-functional communication skills | Decision-maker | Problem solver 📌 Supply & Operations Serving as a scheduler for the Gravenchon Steamcracker feedstocks (heavies, lubes, naphtha) & products (olefins, aromatics, tar) was very fulfilling and motivating, in a fast-paced environment requiring 24/7 responsiveness within I was rewarded twice for the regional optimization of COA rotations & demurrage savings ($3M/y). Thanks to strong relationships with Trading, Shipping, Vetting departments, I intensified Refinery/Chemicals synergies during Covid-19 ($1.5M), unit downtimes ($4M) and optimized TC voyages and shore inventories to reduce demurrage and capture attractive parcels on the market. 📌 Reliability Lead Being the reliability conscience of the Polypropylene business team was an exciting role in which I learnt a lot from cross-functional teams and in which I influenced without authority engineering specialists to reduce risks profile, maintain safe and reliable operations and learn from incident investigations while ensuring social cohesion between teams. I had the great opportunity to live a unit turnaround from the inside, tracking projects execution and stewarding costs (2.5M€). This position also gave me a long-term view, establishing annual and long-range maintenance plans and managing a 6M€/y OPEX budget. 📌 Technical I took my first steps in the world of work as Process Engineer for Resins then Steamcracker recovery/offsites units, assignments in which I had the pleasure to spend a lot of time on the field with process teams, learning from their knowledge and supporting them during night shifts while the units were in start-up transient operations, one of my best memories. I satisfied my liking for field presence by successfully managing distillation towers squats as technical contact. I was also proud to improve profitability, enhancing gasoline towers recovery through process control modifications and a closely monitoring.

    • Reliability Leader
      Jan 2022 - Oct 2024 · 2 yrs 10 mos

      • Serve as the reliability conscience of the Polypropylene Business Team (BT) with strong interactions with maintenance teams while being the engineering specialists’ representative (machinery, inspection, electrical, process control, systems, instrumentation) within the BT. I tracked projects execution and stewarded costs as part of the unit turnaround (2.5M€), compliant with both duration and budget targets. • Conduct many financial risk assessments with cross-functional teams highlighting actual probability of failure and consequences, clarifying benefit/cost ratio calculations to take best business decisions (prioritization, project justification, spare parts purchase). • Lead multi-functional teams through various incident investigations (power supply failure, KO drum leaks) to determine the root cause, streamlining learnings in one page and sharing actions plans with relevant teams. • Coordinate the development of annual maintenance plans (AMP) and long-range plans (infrastructures, very critical equipment, fireproofing system) to improve business team performance. Took part in external AMP reviews (Antwerp Refinery, Antwerp & Meerhout Plastic Plants) to share experience and learn from good practices. • Manage a 6M€/y maintenance OPEX budget (costs reconciliation, budget forecasting), instilling a cost control culture in teams (work scope reviews) & selecting works based on financial/SHE risks.

    • Basic Chemicals Scheduler
      Dec 2018 - Dec 2021 · 3 yrs 1 mo

      • Developed Gravenchon Steamcracker feedstocks (heavies, lubes, naphtha) and production (ethylene, aromatics, tar) schedules in a fast-paced environment, providing work direction to the economist & two olefins schedulers. Interacted daily with internal departments (Trading, Shipping, Chartering, Vetting, Supply, Commercials and Manufacturing) and third parties (Surveyors, Customs). • Received both Global Supply Chain Excellence Award and Basic Chemicals Global Excellence Award recognizing the regional optimization led with cross-site teams, aiming to optimize vessels rotations as part of a COA (dead freight minimization, quality predictability), streamline the work processes and save demurrage at Rotterdam Aromatics Plant (RAP) jetty, which has led to reduce costs on Gravenchon – Fawley – RAP aromatics supply chain by $3M/y. • Intensified Refinery and Chemicals synergies with Mogas/Distillates/Black Products schedulers by transferring a large quantity of distillates and naphtha to the Steamcracker during the first Covid-19 lockdown ($1.5M) or as part of unit downtimes ($4M), significantly reducing jetty occupancy, shipping costs and sale losses in a bear market environment. • Improved work processes to ensure continuous improvement, optimizing Time Charter voyages (different parcels co-load, share with other businesses) and setting up opportunity ullage for feedstocks inventory (structural demurrage reduction and capacity to capture attractive parcels on the market). • Responded calmy to planned and unplanned events with a 24/7 responsiveness maintaining reliable and safe operations activating quickly various levers (feedslate change, pipeline transfer, vessel request) to avoid several unit shutdowns and HSE consequences.

  • Intern at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV)
    May 2014 - Jul 2014 · 3 mos

Engineer assistant internship done within the multi-cultural METEOR research laboratory (chemical engineering department of Rovira I Virgili university) during which I produced polysulfone-based membranes from which I studied the influence of the concentration and type of a solution on carbon dioxide capture. Meticulously carried oud lots of experiments to get the exact lye concentration to absorb the most CO2

  • Intern at SUEZ
