Interned as an Financial/Actuarial Analyst for AIA. Gained broad exposure to the financial services and insurance industry. Developed an understanding of financial planning and various financial products, including Structured Products, Derivatives, Options, Futures and their trading and operating mechanics. Developed understanding of the financial industry and excelled in SCI examinations, demonstrating high competency and specialised knowledge. Worked together with industry specialists and gained great insight into the functioning of the quantitative modelling behind insurance and investments.
Served as Cadet Adjutant, managing administrative coordination for a cohort of >100, providing conditions for smooth course operations and personnel accountability. Appointed Cadet Commander, leading a course of >20, planning programmes and directing daily activities in a demanding training environment. Directed and planned sortie scheduling as well as operations on the flight line. Utilised applications such as FlightPro and ADSBx to streamline processes and improve efficiencies. Participated in foundational flight training on the CT-4, developing practical knowledge in basic piloting, aerodynamics, meteorology, radio communications, aerial navigation. Deepened my knowledge in mission planning fundamentals and staff work.
Served as the link for security, intelligence and personnel information between my company and Battalion HQ. Primary commander for staff and administrative duties for a Company of more than 200. Pioneered the introduction of database technology in duty and operations planning. - Designed and implemented SQL databases to improve accessibility, data integrity and safety of personnel information - Applied Python and R to analyse duty allocation and operational performance, enabling data-driven manpower planning, for fairness and optimisation of performance.
Trained to command and plan Small Boat Operations, as a section commander and at a platoon level, including Land and Naval Navigation, Area Survey, Assault Crossings and Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Led and supervised medical, signals, logistics and administrative functions of the Company HQ Platoon. Assumed the duties of Platoon Sergeant, HQ Platoon (ex officio as an Admin Supervisor), assisting the Company Commander and Company Sergeant Major in the planning of exercises and operations, and the daily management of the company. Managed a fleet of more than 300+ platforms and moving parts, including accounting, maintenance and refreshing inventories. Pioneered the use of Databases and SQL to improve efficiencies in inventories.
Conducted Research under the NUS Department of Material Science and Engineering and A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering. Worked under the auspices of A/P Michel Bosman and PhD. Candidate Hue Do, assisting them in conducting Plasmonic research and particle simulation. Utilised Smilei and Numpy for simulation of plasmonic behaviour, collecting and interpreting data for analysis of plasmonic performance under varying conditions. Collected and interpreted over 100TB of data, specifically focusing on large simulations of high-energy nanoparticle surface plasmonic interaction. Finalist at the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair.
