Training cultural heritage curators form a promotion of about sixty students, recruited through a national exam, and destined to both territorial and national public service in the cultural sector. Training curators are dispatched in different sections: archives, archeology, scientific technical and natural heritage, museums, historical monuments and cultural inventory. They are programmed to take on leading positions in various public institutions such as museums, public archives and libraries, cultural administrations, archeology services... Their training program at the Institut National du Patrimoine lasts for 18 months, both in Paris (INP) and Strasbourg (INET), and includes a wide range of field experiences and internships, in France as well as abroad. The current promotion — Magdeleine Hours — has started the program in January 2023 and its graduation will take place in June 2024.
