Head ESH Europe & North Africa, Service Division at Sulzer | Strengthening ESH Governance, Safety Leadership & Operational Risk Control Across Service Operations | Lead Safely

Greater Madrid Metropolitan Area

About

I am Head ESH Europe & North Africa, Service Division at Sulzer, with more than eighteen years of experience in industrial, service and field operations. My focus is on strengthening regional ESH governance, operational risk control, legal compliance and safety leadership across complex, multi-country service environments. I build ESH systems that are measurable, standardized, legally robust and culturally adaptable — so safety is planned, executed and sustained consistently across regions, sites and operational teams. My approach is pragmatic and data-driven: what is not measured does not exist. I believe in clear governance, visible accountability and standardized ways of working, integrating prevention into operational planning rather than treating it as a separate activity. Before joining Sulzer, I built a strong foundation at GE Vernova, leading EHS across different country scopes, with my latest responsibility covering Iberia and the Internal EHS Service in Spain. I also contributed to broader leadership and engagement forums, including the Spain Council and several Employee Resource Groups. My Lead Safely approach is about helping leaders make safety visible in the way work is planned, risk is managed, priorities are set and decisions are made. Beyond my corporate role, I see volunteering as a powerful source of personal growth, belonging, teamwork and pride in the company. As co-founder of SPAIN STEAM Camp, I support initiatives designed to inspire young students to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through hands-on learning and mentoring. Because in safety, what we measure improves, what we plan becomes reality, and what we lead becomes culture.

Leading the ESH agenda for Sulzer’s Service Division across Europe & North Africa, supporting a diverse regional footprint of industrial service operations, workshops and field environments. My role focuses on strengthening regional ESH governance, operational risk control, legal compliance, leadership accountability and consistent execution across multi-country service realities. I partner with operational leaders and site teams to embed ESH into how work is planned, risks are assessed, priorities are managed and execution is led — ensuring safety is not treated as a separate function, but as an integral part of operational performance. Key focus areas include: • Strengthening regional ESH governance and alignment with global ESH expectations • Supporting consistent execution of ESH standards across countries, sites and service operations • Enhancing operational risk control in workshop, field service and customer-facing environments • Driving legal compliance, assurance and continuous improvement across the regional footprint • Building practical, credible and scalable ESH practices adapted to different levels of maturity • Coaching leaders to make safety visible through planning, decision-making, accountability and execution • Promoting a Lead Safely approach where safety becomes a leadership capability, not only a functional requirement My purpose is to help create the conditions for people to perform safely, consistently and with pride.
