Gregorio C. J. N. de Paulo is a philosopher, writer, editor whose scholarship examines Augustine’s influence on Martin Heidegger’s methodology in Sein und Zeit. His research further applies hermeneutical approaches to ancient sources—especially Classical Greek and Early Christian writers—focusing on authenticity, ambiguity, paradox, anxiety, struggle, and restlessness. He has also published extensively on Existential (Hermeneutical) phenomenology, Ethical Theory, Just War theory and Military Ethics, Byzantine studies, the philosophy of love and world religions. He has studied and worked with some of the great philosophers, theologians and scholars of our time, including John D. Caputo, Cardinal Georges Cottier, O.P., Cardinal Avery Dulles, S. J., Hans Kung, John Macquarrie, Camille Paglia, Jaroslav Pelikan, William J. Richardson, S.J., Roland J. Teske, S.J. and Tarcisius van Bavel, O.S.A., In addition to academic work, Professor de Paulo consults privately in nonprofit leadership, medical ethics, and military ethics.
