The Project Engineer is responsible for multiple disciplines in the field of engineering and consulting, has to process those holistically, especially taking care of the interfaces between the various disciplines/systems. This includes the technical coordination between the different departments. Responsible for that the technical aims of the project are met. Oversees time constraints, project cost, project success. Ensures that the design is efficient, profitable. Goes into details of technical design if necessary. Responsible for the accuracy of the overall solution and for the completeness of specifications and for choosing the right components. The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical quality of the project. TASKS • Defines the technical scope of work, calculates the hours needed to carry out the technical scope • Monitor sub-contractors work, in technical aspects to ensure guidelines are maintained • Cooperate, communicate effectively with Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support • Holistic recognition, classification of compliance for distributing the work packages • Elaboration of specifications, technical aspects of supplier selection • Link between customer requirements and implementation of the project • Updating the Project Manager immediately on the progress of the project in case something deviates from the schedule. • If requested, supports the Project Manager in interaction with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements in the project • Identifies technical problems with the project, taking the lead on developing solutions, ensuring solutions are implemented • Assesses that different technical solution systematically in order to identify the best solution • Responsible for meeting quality gates/project milestones in term of technical aspects • Specifications, technical reports, maintenance documentation, memos • Compiling job specifications, supervising tendering procedures
- Responsible, technical handling of engineering projects in the field of "Electromechanical Design" - Planning, project planning and implementation of engineering services in the field of electrical installation planning - Group-related capacity planning and team composition - Planning of group-internal training measures together with the supervisor - Coordination with "Mechanical Design" on fastening and joining techniques, metallurgical and manufacturing technologies - Efficient and motivating professional leadership - Sales support, participation in the preparation of quotation calculations and technical offer texts - On-time provision of order-related production and procurement documents, if necessary advance disposition of appointment-determining parts - Consultation and support of customers as an engineering Service - Technical Consulting - Selection of optimal vendor parts through close contacts with purchasing and suppliers - Achieve low total cost of procurement, manufacturing, operation and maintenance - Implementation and support of risk analyzes, FMEAs and safety considerations - Ensuring a smooth order flow through support of other departments, technical clarification with suppliers and production - Assistance with approvals, IBS through preparation of test documentation and participation in vehicle commissioning - Largest use of CAD and other technical aids to rationalize your own area - Return knowledge, defects, design flaws or new (better) manufacturing methodologies in the design and product development - Ongoing observation, consideration of the state of the art, the relevant standards landscape as well as the current directives, ordinances and laws (for example: TSI, EN, electrotechnical regulations, approval, operator guidelines, safety standards)
- On-time provision of order-related production documents and procurement documents, if necessary, advance disposition of appointment-determining parts (provisional BOMs, specification of components) - Selection of optimal (technical, time and price) parts by close contacts with purchasing and suppliers - Cooperation in the design of rail vehicles, electrical components and engineering services - Electrical configuration in direct contact with the customer as well as data processing for commercial project planning and project controlling - Consultation and support of customers as an engineering service - Technical Consulting - Achieve low total cost of procurement, manufacturing, operation and maintenance through: • Standardization, as many standardized assemblies as possible • Consideration of new production technologies through continuous coordination with work preparation, production and purchasing • Consideration of operational experience through contact with on-site personnel. • Adaptation to customer requirements through exchangeable variants • Creation of subgroups to shorten assembly times (pre-assemblies) - Ensuring a smooth order flow through support of other departments (technical information, coordination) and techn. Clarification with suppliers - Keep the latest state of the art by appropriate adaptation and further development of the modules - use of CAD and other technical aids to rationalize his own area - Implementation of commissioning and service on site - feedback of insights, defects, design errors or new (better) manufacturing methods into the design
