With over 30 years of experience in finance and insurance, I’ve dedicated my career to designing forward-thinking insurance products and developing Genie—a powerful insurtech platform created by CPU Group. Leveraging AI and automation, Genie delivers a flexible, real-time workflow system for insurers, brokers, manufacturers and resellers, streamlining quoting, invoicing, claims management, and performance analytics. As Founder of CPU Group and Director of its subsidiaries—Accuro Insurance Agents EU and Accuro Risk Management—I specialise in B2B and embedded insurance solutions, tailored to the unique needs of the education, retail, and manufacturing sectors. My journey began at CPU Insurance, where I launched innovative programmes for the computer manufacturing and retail industries. Key achievements include the creation of ‘Learning on the Move’ for HP and ‘iStudent’ for Apple—two transformative initiatives that made technology more accessible to students across the UK and Ireland. Today, I remain passionate about harnessing technology to modernise insurance, reduce operational costs, and deliver lasting value. Through Accuro’s regulated platforms—powered by Genie—I continue to develop tailored solutions that help our partners grow, innovate, and stay ahead of the curve.
Following the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union, I relocated to Cyprus in 2022 to establish Accuro Insurance Agents EU Ltd—a fully EU-regulated subsidiary of CPU Group—to ensure uninterrupted access to European markets and maintain compliance with EU insurance regulations. Licensed by the Insurance Companies Control Service (License No. HE 434573), Accuro delivers embedded insurance solutions across the education, technology, manufacturing, dealer, and retail sectors throughout the EU. These solutions are seamlessly integrated via our proprietary Genie platform and underwritten by A-rated insurers.
As Director of the UK-authorised and FCA-regulated arm of Accuro Risk Management Ltd (FCA Ref. No. 778119), I oversee underwriting partnerships and operational delivery for partner-led insurance schemes across the UK. Accuro Risk Management Ltd is also an authorised BACS service provider, formally approved to access and process payments through the Bankers' Automated Clearing Services (BACS) network. This accreditation reflects our adherence to rigorous regulatory, technical, and security standards—allowing us to manage BACS transactions directly, without relying on third-party payment providers. This in-house capability enables secure, efficient, and fully compliant financial operations for all education-sector parental contribution programmes administered through our proprietary Genie platform, which offers real-time reporting and complete audit transparency.
As Founder and Managing Director of CPU Group, I lead the creation and delivery of embedded insurance and finance solutions tailored for IT manufacturers, resellers, education institutions, and B2B finance providers. Our proprietary insurtech platform, G.E.N.I.E. (Global Engineering Network Insurance Engine), launched in 2001, is a real-time, cloud-based internet, extranet, and intranet system. It manages policy issuance, claims, invoicing, and compliance—streamlining operations across the insurance value chain. Key Achievements: ▪ In 1997, developed insured manufacturer warranty and extended warranty programmes for computer manufacturers and PCA members—an early model for embedded insurance in the UK tech sector. ▪ In 2001, we were approached by Compaq to design a pioneering laptop insurance and finance solution for UK universities — a first-of-its-kind programme that was later rebranded as "Learning on the Move" by HP after their acquisition. Our platform also caught the attention of Apple Financial Services, who launched it under the name "iStudent," helping to redefine how technology and education converged across the sector. ▪ Created CPU’s flagship education scheme—Mobile Learning used nationwide to support digital access for schools and students. ▪ Developed embedded insurance workflows for global IT manufacturers, resellers, and leasing providers. ▪ In 2004, licensed rebranded G.E.N.I.E. to AmTrust International for deployment in the U.S, validating the platform’s international scalability. ▪ In 2021, Max Caviet (former AmTrust CEO) joined CPU as Joint Managing Director, strengthening our leadership alongside former AmTrust underwriters and directors. ▪ In late 2022, negotiated a partnership with CHG-Meridian, a pan-European equipment leasing leader, to take Mobile Learning to the next level through exclusive distribution across the education sector.
Designed the CPU Mobile Learning programme—an innovative 1:1 student device initiative that enables schools to offer all students access to technology, regardless of socioeconomic background. Used by selected resellers across the UK and Ireland, the programme integrates finance, insurance, and automated admin tools to simplify school partnerships and improve digital inclusion. Co-founded Genie Support Services Ltd as a joint venture with Burnetts & Associates (Southampton), building on the success of CPU Insurance Services. The venture was designed to centralise insurance claims handling and customer support, enabling CPU to focus on expanding its leasing and broking operations in North London. In late 2005, I led the strategic negotiation and execution of a full operational takeover following a challenging partnership separation. This included relocating claims services back to London, stabilising key client relationships, and restoring underwriter confidence to secure the future of the business.
Founded CPU Insurance to provide manufacturer-backed warranties, extended warranties, and all-risk policies tailored specifically for the computer manufacturing and retail industries. Our solutions were adopted by over 350 suppliers, enhancing customer trust, boosting retention, and supporting sales growth. In 2001, we pioneered embedded insurance and finance products for the education sector—most notably through “Learning on the Move” for HP and “iStudent” for Apple. These landmark programmes set a new benchmark for EdTech insurance and finance, empowering students across the UK and Ireland with affordable access to cutting-edge technology.
