About

I have been fortunate to spend over 25 years working in sport, across Aotearoa, Australia, and South America, in roles that span from grassroots to high performance and significant commercial deals. While much of my career has been in rugby union, what drew me to New Zealand Rugby League was something deeper than the game itself, the people, the community, and the sense of whānau that surrounds the sport. Rugby league has connected me to communities in a way I hadn’t experienced before - it really is More than a Game®. It’s about the generations of families who make the game what it is. That sense of belonging is something incredibly powerful and transcends the sport into everyday life. I have lived in many places: Canterbury, Waikato, Wellington, Argentina, Sydney, and now call Auckland home. I have seen the power of sport to bring people together, build resilience, and foster pride. At NZRL, I am focused on helping grow the game with integrity and care, supporting both our grassroots game and elite teams and making sure our kaupapa reflects the communities we serve. I don’t take this role lightly. I’m here to listen, to learn, and to lead in a way that honours the legacy of rugby league in Aotearoa and helps shape its future. During the time I was in rugby union I was privileged to have been involved in concluding major commercial deals, including leading the sale process for and negotiation of two SANZAAR global broadcasting/media rights agreements. These experiences have shaped my approach and perspective, and I now bring that same strategic mindset and commitment to growing the game and its impact through rugby league.
