I currently work at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park as one member of the Special Events Team. This team is responsible for planning, coordinating, and setting up/tearing down all events that take place at the park. We also help out at other City of Scottsdale events. My time in Japan was very informative and a great opportunity for growth. I've kept up with my studies and am looking for more opportunities that might lead me back to Japan, or at the very least allow me to keep up my Japanese.
Collaborating with Special Events Coworkers to plan, organize, and run near-monthly event for the public, free and paid-entry. Part of the main team that sets up the park's "Spook-Track-Ula" and "Holiday Lights" events, among others.
Collaborated with the teachers at a technical high school to come up with engaging English language lessons to prepare students for their exams as well as extracurricular English testing. Outside of school, I engaged with the community by attending English language events, presenting about my life in America, and getting to know people within the community on a day-to-day basis.
Provided style and color combination recommendations, operated point of sale, informed clients of deals and discount opportunities, maintained sales floor and point of sale cleanliness and organization.
Assisted the IT department in Quality Assurance of security systems. Checked, updated, and approved incoming and current (at the time) student identification cards. Other duties as assigned.
Cross-trained for barista coverage at Starbucks. Also created chalk advertisement signage on a weekly basis.
Assist Deli Manager in a variety of tasks, including product ordering, department maintenance, communication with store managers and directors, leading deli team to complete tasks.
