Managed team responsible for 12+ Natural Language Processing, Data Visualization and Information Retrieval products for OEM, Enterprise and Government markets. Responsibilities included product requirements and roadmap ownership, project management, collateral creation, sales and partner training, tracking competitors, press and analyst representation.
Managed a team of engineers responsible for designing and implementing data mining and routing solutions for Inxight's clients, from a wide range of data sets, including news feeds (Reuters), customer service email (Primus (now ATG)), regulatory documents (EPRI), legal documents (European Patent Office) and others. Voluminous pre-sales work, including RFI/RFP response.
Chartered and managed a team to design, implement and maintain automated data conversion and indexing (categorization) systems of electronic text feeds from over 1,000 publishers, for use in Gale's on-line research databases. Represented editorial and data quality interest as the company transitioned it's entire product line to the web.
Part of a team tasked with managing and refining controlled vocabularies (thesauri, taxonomies) of over 300,000 subjects for use in Gale's 50-plus on-line databases, setting editorial policy as the company transitioned to full text offerings, and working with other Thomson companies (WestLaw, Thomson Finance, DIalog) to best leverage these vocabularies across the organization.
Managed a team of 15 indexers and abstractors, as well as freelancers and offshore vendors, responsible for editorial production of IAC’s academic, legal and health on-line databases. Monitored competitive offerings for content coverage, editorial policies, currency, quality and ease of use.
