-Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) using Autodesk Inventor while ensuring compliance with company drafting standards. -Design and model exhaust ducting, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, exhaust stacks, expansion joints, structural supports, access platforms, ladders, and maintenance access systems in accordance with customer specifications and applicable design standards. -Review customer specifications, project documentation, and engineering standards to ensure design compliance throughout the project lifecycle. -Perform engineering calculations to support component sizing, structural detailing, and design validation where required. -Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, manufacturing, and drafting personnel to resolve design issues, improve constructability, and maintain project schedules.
-Led the mechanical design and development of custom mining vehicles, hoists and material handling projects. Taking products from concept through engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer acceptance. Projects were valued from tens of thousands to several million dollars. -Performed structural, mechanical, hydraulic and driveline calculations to validate equipment performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. -Engineered hoisting and pulling equipment with line pulls ranging from 6,000 lb to over 100,000 lb, including winches, personnel hoists, cable reel trailers, reel stands. -Produced detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, general arrangement drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation using CAD software. -Worked closely with manufacturing throughout fabrication, resolving design issues, improving manufacturability, processing engineering change notices (ECNs), and supporting production. -Coordinated multidisciplinary design reviews involving engineering, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and customers to ensure technical, commercial, and manufacturing requirements were achieved. -Reduced manufacturing complexity and production costs by redesigning legacy equipment, improving manufacturability, standardizing components, and incorporating feedback from production teams. -Developed hydraulic systems by selecting pumps, motors, valves, coolers, cylinders, and control components to achieve required speed, torque, pressure, and efficiency targets across a wide range of custom equipment.
