I’ve spent almost 30 years in technology, turning promises into outcomes. From infrastructure to automation, and from cloud to AI, disruptive innovation has been the constant backdrop to my career... but the work has always come back to the same things: discipline, trust, and execution. I’m drawn to difficult problems and people who care enough to argue against me for a better outcome. I like ideas with weight behind them, the kind that can survive contact with the real world. When I need to decompress, coding keeps me honest and playing the bagpipes keeps me centred. My time in military tattoos connects me to something ancient: discipline, ritual, precision, service, brotherhood, and the power of a sound that can move thousands of people at the same time. My work may be modern, but my instincts are old: build properly, keep your word, carry weight, protect what matters, respect the craft, stay calm under pressure, and never pretend a weak plan is a strong one. I’m interested in people and organisations willing to take responsibility, make hard decisions, and shape the future before it is shaped for them.
My job is to stop good ideas dying in PowerPoint. > Turn strategy into buildable, sellable, supportable capability, then get it into market. > Help teams move faster without breaking trust: security, architecture, delivery, decision-making. > Work with customer and partner execs on what’s next. > Push hard into AI, automation, and modern operating models. > Keep people aligned on the basics: repeatable offers, clean patterns, fewer bespoke snowflakes.
Sat on Data#3’s Strategy Team with a simple job: turn good ideas into needle moovers. > Built and ran solution/partner strategies that survived contact with reality. > Spotted market transitions early and converted them into action: capability, offers, and GTM. > Tuned our GTM to drive growth across the full lifecycle - adoption, value, expansion. > Acted as the “translator” between exec intent and delivery detail.
Ran Data#3’s Cisco practice nationally: strategy, capability, execution. > Set the joint plan with Cisco, then made sure it didn’t die in a slide deck. > Built new offers to match how customers were changing the way they buy and consume tech. > Grew a national engine: sales, presales, delivery, ops… the whole chain. > Led the “what should we do next?” conversations in strategic accounts, with real outcomes behind it
Owned Commander’s national go-to-market for collaboration / unified communications. > Ran the UC portfolio end-to-end: offers, packaging, positioning, and commercial narrative. > Managed key vendor relationships across Microsoft, Cisco and Nortel. > Acted as the UC “translator” and turned technical capability into a value story for sales teams. > Enabled distributed sales and service teams nationally and drove execution through influence. > Led customer and partner conversations as the UC SME / thought-leadership voice.
Architect focused on shaping customer outcomes from pre-sales to handover. > Designed collaboration / network solutions and took them from whiteboard to implementation-ready. > Worked with customers to turn requirements into architectures that could be deployed and supported. > Partnered with sales to qualify opportunities, shape scope, and build credible solution proposals. > Built the technical foundation that carried through the acquisition into Commander.
Brought new life to the Network Services division; positioning, offers, capability, and delivery outcomes. > Reset market positioning and built a services motion that could scale. > Built strategic vendor relationships across Microsoft, Cisco and HP. > Led solution architecture across voice, mobility, switching and security projects. > Delivered pre-sales and sales specialist support to drive customer engagements and win work. > Rolled out broad-based sales + technical training to lift capability across the business. > Executed strategy through a mix of direct leadership and influence-based relationships.
Helped customers adopt mobility services across wired and wireless environments. > Supported direct and channel teams with positioning and customer-facing technical credibility. > Designed and implemented mobility solutions using Microsoft, Cisco and HP technologies. > Built and maintained key vendor relationships (Cisco / HP) to support delivery and GTM. > Drove demand through targeted industry events and conference presentations.
