Selected to take part in the competitive In2Research programme, which prepares students for postgraduate study through training, mentoring and an eight-week research placement. Currently undertaking specialist development in research skills, critical analysis, and academic writing ahead of my 2026 summer placement with Dr Roman Schotten at UCL, focusing on community-centred disaster risk and social vulnerability. This role involves engaging with interdisciplinary research practices, attending expert-led workshops, and working towards producing an independent research project while developing confidence and readiness for future postgraduate pathways.
Representing the voice of young people within the BTO, contributing ideas on how to make bird science and conservation more accessible and inclusive. Helping shape youth-focused initiatives, supporting communication projects and offering insight into how the next generation connects with nature.
