As a science tutor, I was responsible for researching topics, making personalised lesson plans, and delivering this information to my tutees in a digestible, engaging manner. Working with a range of abilities from primary school through to GCSEs required adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.
Daily at MANE I was responsible for the smooth operation of the lab and regular calibration of equipment. Responding to briefs from customers or using my spare time efficiently to proactively further the business demonstrated my passion and dedication to the industry. Addressing market needs via targeted flavour concepts and applications really allowed my creativity to flourish, particularly in the sports nutrition, confectionary and functional beverage area.
Throughout university, I have worked at the spar in the student union. Managing a part-time job alongside my studies was incredibly rewarding and allowed me to implement my strong time management skills and independence. I was heavily involved in the construction of this zero waste, non-profit shop. Working alongside colleagues to improve shop layout and product ideas required strong teamwork abilities and innovation. I personally produced artwork for the shop, as-well as writing a catalogue detailing all the stock, this proactivity saves time for customers and colleagues alike. The combined effort of student staff and the student union sustainability officers meant that the shop was a great success – so much so that ITV came to interview the team.
