Organised the Herrick Society's first-ever transplant event, aimed at increasing student exposure to the field of transplant surgery. The event featured a hands-on kidney transplant workshop, a basic suturing skills session, and a panel discussion on life as a transplant surgeon, featuring insights from cardiothoracic, liver, and kidney transplant specialists.
Scrubbed and assisted in various neurosurgical cases, mostly in endovascular neurosurgery. Managed neurosurgical floor duties and inpatient care with resident-level responsibility during 24-hour on-call shifts.
Scrubbed and assisted in various abdominal transplant operations including liver/kidney/intestinal transplants and organ retrieval.
Founded and led the UK’s first regional transplant surgery teaching series for medical students; coordinated 12 lectures by consultant transplant surgeons and directed 8 surgical wet and dry lab workshops. Designed and executed the society’s inaugural research teaching series, delivering 16 lectures covering systematic reviews, critical analysis, manuscript writing, and academic referencing. Mentored and managed a 16-member committee to launch high-impact events, including the society’s first Plastic Surgery Ball, an aesthetic surgery lecture series, and the annual plastic surgery conference. Incorporated charitable fundraising into student-led surgical events, generating £750+ in donations for designated charities.
Directed the society's largest student plastic surgery conference: Led a team of 4 in managing sponsorships, marketing, and event logistics for over 80 attendees. Introduced advanced surgical workshops: Developed and implemented hands-on sessions for microsurgery and cleft lip repair.
Delivered hands-on surgical training: Taught medical students core suturing techniques (simple interrupted, mattress, subcuticular) and surgical hand ties.
