About

Mining is competitive, regulated, and unforgiving. One late submission can cost millions and your competitor is ready with shovel in hand. A mineral rights portfolio across multiple jurisdictions means hundreds of conditions, deadlines, expenditure commitments, access agreements, and statutory reporting obligations running simultaneously. Miss one. A competitor files for forfeiture. An access corridor you've depended on for years becomes a negotiation you weren't ready to have. A regulatory submission goes in late and a project approval stalls. The complexity isn't the problem. Unmanaged complexity is. After two decades of managing tenement portfolios for Tier 1 global mining companies across Australia and internationally, negotiating land access in environments, I understand the relationship between company and community is everything, and designing governance frameworks that hold up when the person who built them leaves. What I learned is that governance fails the same way every time. It lives in someone's head, or in a spreadsheet nobody else can read, or in an institutional memory that walks out the door. The obligations don't stop. The deadlines don't move. And the competitors are watching. That experience sits at the centre of what I'm building now. The critical minerals powering the energy transition are held through tenements. The gap between a country's mineral endowment and a company's ability to access, develop, and export those resources is almost always a governance gap. As the EU works to secure critical minerals supply and strengthen partnerships with resource-rich regions, that governance layer is where those agreements succeed or fail in practice. I co-founded Boxcurve to build what I spent two decades wishing existed, agentic AI solutions for mineral rights governance and land access, built by someone who understands what the work actually involves. Not generic compliance tools. Intelligent systems that manage the complexity, track the obligations, and make accountability visible before something slips. If you're managing a portfolio where the stakes are high and the margin for error is thin — let's talk.
