Responsible for an all-inclusive vertically integrated Operations organization that spans the production process from raw materials to finished product in support of a $200M positive displacement pump business. Leads all departments within Operations team that include two independent foundries, a machine and assembly shop with the various support organizations associated, Quality Assurance, Logistics and Continuous Improvement through the utilization of Lean and 80/20. Dotted line operational leadership for international operations located in Canada and Ireland. Responsible for more than 300 direct labor employees and two governing labor contracts, and an additional 65 office support team members across multiple functions. Manage a $50 million annual operating budget, a $5 million yearly capital budget as well as over $30 million in both direct and indirect material spend.
Directed all aspects of $1 billion manufacturing operations producing avionics and display products for the aerospace industry predominantly focused on the large aircraft segment. Established performance indicators, operating goals, realignment initiatives, productivity improvements, and cost reduction programs that consistently improved product output and quality. Managed cross functional team that included 4 Plant Managers, 2 Customer Program Leaders and over 600 indirect employees located in both union and non-union facilities throughout Iowa. Responsible for all aspects of closure that included customer communication and risk mitigation planning, manufacturing process and equipment transitions, environmental compliance, and building facilities sale preparation. Successfully transitioned all aspects of business to 5 different plants in 4 different states in less than 8months without disruption to the customer.
