ICT Renewal and Strategic Sourcing within the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts, administers ICT procurement across Queensland Government through whole-of-government Information Technology and Telecommunications contract management, and strong industry engagement. Glenn’s successful appointment to Executive Director sees him take on the exciting challenge of heading the implementation of the ICT Strategy and multi-faceted Action Plan. The ICT Strategy outlines the vision for the future and how Government will transform its use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to provide high value digital services to Queenslanders. Glenn is passionate about innovation and revolutionising the way the Queensland Government does business, he is committed to delivering a modern and cost effective ICT services that create public value. Glenn brings a wealth of experience and vision from his previous role as Chief Information Officer with the Department of Community Safety. His leadership and practical skills application were instrumental in the implementation of operational capabilities that supported the Department’s key goals and strategies, particularly in the areas of front line service delivery including Triple 000 Communications, Disaster Management, Offender rehabilitation and in-field operations conducted by first responders. In recognition of Glenn’s skills in strategic decision making, consistency in following best practice and fostering other young professionals, Glenn was awarded the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Young Leader of the Year Award in 2011.
