• Technical account manager for a large data centre client in the UK & EMEA region. Establishes and maintains customer relationships with key contacts in procurement, operations, design & engineering and project management. • Working with client's design & engineering teams and appointed M&E consultants on energy efficient climate control equipment selection & specification covering chillers, pumps, free cooling, energy metering and related BAC/BMS controls. Also waste heat recovery solutions using heat pumps where applicable. • Involved in projects from early to late-stage design and specification, proposals, technical submittals to handover/delivery in coordination with the relevant departments internally and client & contractor side. • Delivered projects in UK. Worked with local offices on secured pipeline projects in Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Finland. • Main point of contact for escalation when there are issues on projects, at tender stage or post-order for example during commissioning. • Understanding client’s challenges and future requirements and working with engineering & R&D team to come up with new solutions.
• Applications Engineer focused mainly on heat pump solutions/heating projects. • Assisted sales team with technical enquiries and meetings with consulting M&E engineers design & feasibility studies on new projects. Carbon reduction illustrations and power usage estimates comparing heat pumps to boilers, product technical selections. • Cascade systems, buffer vessel and pump sizing, high to medium system sizing from commercial offices, leisure centres and district heating schemes. Small units, unitary to medium larger scroll, screw and high-speed centrifugal units. • Produced outline mechanical schematics showing how proposed heating solution integrates with system. Pricing, proposals and technical submittals. • Decarbonisation schemes: Assisted sales team with site visits with end users & facilities management team when required to help with site surveys, looking at existing heating system, footprint, temperature set points, flow rates and site power for feasibility of heat pump being integrated into an existing system under initiatives such as the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme/Salix Funding to replace fossil fuel boilers.
• Presenting new product applications & solutions to customers. Provides on-site training & demos for customers with sales team. Also post-install manufacturer QA inspections on request. • Trains colleagues on new product applications & solutions launched by the manufacturer. Launched UK Drinking Water Quality programme in 2021. • Manages the technical & complaint process for UK and Ireland including warranty claims. • Assists customers with product solution selection, material suitability, pipe sizes, flow-rates/pressure drop optimisation and material suitability when required. Also does pipe expansion and fixing point calculations on request. • Drives new technical marketing campaigns and CPD presentation content, proof/edit flyers, brochures, manuals & technical submittals. • Actively involved in technical seminars & symposiums on behalf of Viega UK.
• Develops & maintains strong working relationships with Mechanical & Electrical and Sustainability building services consultants. Provides guidance on best-fit low-carbon product solutions with a focus on heat networks: combined heat and power (CHP), heat pumps & Heat Interface Units. Complementary product cross selling of energy meters, commissioning valves. • Actively works with other in-house related product groups, covering mechanical plate heat exchangers for DHW, Heating & Cooling, MVHR and commissioning modules covering HVAC & Building Services. • Conducts feasibility studies on CHP & heat pump suitability at design stage based on site heat & power demands,cost savings & payback calculations. Produces carbon reduction assessments to calculate CHP with heat pump CO2 emissions vs conventional grid electricity & gas boiler systems. Thermal store sizing for optimised heat and power design based on low/peak demand cycles. • Ad-hoc product demonstrations to customers & site visits to assess product suitability. • Provides technical support to clients & customers including help with building services design, unit selection & commissioning. Produces pricing proposals upon reviewing, estimating and quantifying mechanical specifications/take-offs at tender stage. Preparing handover documents. • Review of mechanical & electrical plantroom schematic designs, including occasional in house design for bespoke solutions in partnership with aid of CAD/Revit team. • Writing technical documents and brochures for both internal use and external product launches. Examples include FAQ cribsheets and install/design guides for the marketing function. • Good understanding of legal requirements, including Building Regulations and other guidance. • Maintaining CRM database on projects, including project status, leads and other useful intelligence. • Business trips to visit key suppliers in Italy, Switzerland and Denmark. Also factory and R&D plant visit tours for M&E consultants.
