I am Computer Scientist in Artificial Intelligence, specialized in Machine Learning. I like bursting the 'AI hype bubble' and applying these cool techniques to problems responsibly, and when it makes sense, not just for the sake of using the latest shiny toy. 😊
AI Research Engineer working on various AI techniques for Ed-Tech: * Tutors and Quiz generation using LLMs * BERT based embedding models for semantic search * (RDF based) Knowledge graphs to represent and reason about curriculums * Neural network based classifiers to predict subjects, grades and readability levels Written (and got funded) research proposals for AI related projects around search technology and curriculum classification.
Work-package leader in the COMMIT/ Data2Semantics project. Responsible for determining the research direction, coordinating the scientific programming and peforming research on Machine Learning and Data Mining techniques for Linked Data and the Semantic Web. I also (co)taught and coordinated the Data Mining course for the Information Science Bachelor.
Research on Machine Learning methods for Vessel Trajectory data, as part of the POSEIDON project. Clustering trajectories into groups of similar behavior, predicting the vessel type of a trajectory and discovering outliers, such as speeding vessels and illegal fishing activities.
Teaching classes, assisting labs and grading homework for various courses in the Artificial Intelligence BSc curriculum, including: Data Mining, Databases, Data Structures, Introduction to Logic and Computational Logic.
