Since June 2020, Senior Project Manager for R.H.T. EPC Contractor in Savona, responsible from design to the construction execution of machineries and Crushing/Screening Plants used in the following applications: quarries and mines, building wastes and glass recycling, water treatment and recycling processes i.e. sludge treatments and drilling bentonite muds’ treatment. From 2010 to 2020, Engineering Experience of steel and concrete structures for Power Plants and Oil & Gas facilities at RINA S.p.A., during which time I had the opportunity to develop technical and coordination skills by working on multi disciplinary global projects looking after both civil and mechanical piping design within the Industrial and Maritime sectors, initially as Structured Designer and afterwards as Project Engineer and Project Manager. Between 2010 to 2016 as Structural Designer I have been working on multiple engineering industrial and maritime sectors’ project, in charge of the metocean data analysis and structural design of offshore Oil & Gas platforms as well as major global Power Plants Projects (i.e. Gorgon Project - G.E. or Tzafit Israel Power Plant – Alstom ). Furthermore, I have been collaborating to multiple projects involving the sea transportations analysis, including the calculation of both sea motions analysis and fatigue/strength design, as well as the calculations of offshore fixed structure. Additionally I have been contributing to the design of small scale LNG distribution projects, including berth & mooring design and the maneuverability analysis of LNG carriers. I acquired relevant and successful experience in steel modularization design (big Gas Turbine Modules and Modularized Power Plants) I acquired also experience in machine foundation design, such as GTG or STG. As Project Engineer and Project Manager (between 2016-2020) I had acquired experience on ensuring Project Execution adherence to schedule, standards and all project kpis. During this time I have enhanced my site experience as structural surveyor for Steel Gas Turbine Module construction sites (GE Oil & Gas – Avenza Yard / GE-Alstom - Porto de Sergipe). Additionally, I have successfully managed from design to execution the project of Modularized Power Plants (Ge-Alstom – Sergipe Power Plant) and coordinated, with the client, the Steel Structure Shop Drawings execution of some Power Plants (Danieli Service -Pickling and cold rolling mill revamping). Co-Advisor of Master Thesis in Civil Structural Engineering.
Main Plant Projects that i have followed at RHT (EPC Contractor) from design to construction, covering each aspect necessary to finalize the Project, from both technical & economical perspective: • Veterobalsamo – Milano: New glass recycling line added to the existing plant. • Cabe Srl: New Crushing and Screening Plants integrated with complete sludge treatments. • Minerali Industriali-Breton: Two Integrated “Bio-quarzo” Crushing and Screening Plants in Egypt • Officina dell’Ambiente: New Generation of Recycling Processes designed for a complete combustion waste recovery with metal (magnetic and non-magnetic) / plastic division • Cave e Cantieri: The New biggest Sardinia’s Crushing and Screening Plant. • Trevi Australia & Wagstaff Piling: Two Modularized drilling bentonite muds’ treatment Plants (shipped to Australia) in order to realize new lines of Melbourne subway.
• P.E. & P.M. Engineer for a Guyed Risers design check with detail F.E.M. Model: non linear cable analysis . • P.E. & P.M. Engineer for manoeuvrability analysis: asses the feasibility of a LNG carrier to carry out approach maneuvers / mooring and unmooring / departure maneuvers in new regasification plants. • P.E. & P.M. Engineer for a structural design review of horizontal cylindrical vessels placed just below ground level, each ones with capacity 9000 m3. • P.E. & P.M. Engineer for new process lines improvements (multidisciplinary work). Survey on site in order to choice the better solution for new piping lines (vapours & H20) and equipment position. PDMS 3d Model has been created with existing structure and new ones. Stress Analysis and Steel Supports Design have been performed together in the same FEM Model. • P.E. & P.M. Engineer for a Structural calculation of steel structure Building and concrete foundation design. • P.E. Engineer for a basic design of Solar Plants (8996,40 kWp & 4,3 MWp). The design covers both steel supporting panels structure and foundation piles. Particular attention has been done during the detail calculation of wind action on panels. • P.E. & P.M. Engineer for a detail design of multidisciplinary work. The scope of the project is the revamping of existing industrial plant with a new Pickling line and Cold Rolling mill. The new steel supporting structure has been developed considering both particular mechanical tolerance and a detail 3D modelling on an existing 3D scan in order to minimize any interference.The Dynamic and Fatigue Damage calculations have also been performed for the steel supporting structure
International Master’s course in Civil Engineering - University of Bologna “Lifting analysis of a modularized steel structure” - Davide Benucci. The thesis concerns the detailed lifting point analyses and calculation for huge steel modules. Distinct approaches of F.E.M. analyses have been performed with different software together a critical comparison of international rules. Project Engineer of steel and concrete structures both for Power Plants and Oil & Gas facilities and Project Manager for a multidisciplinary work. Successful experience in steel modularization design (big Gas Turbine Modules and Modularized Power Plants): • Testing condition, Land & Sea Transports (transport by SPMT, PMT), Lifting operation, Metocean Data Analysis, Steel fatigue damage both during sea transportation and in plant service condition (dynamic analysis)., Staging temporary condition, Non linear dynamic analysis for in service condition (Machine foundation design), Operative conditions. Knowledge of the most popular FEM and 3D software for calculation and design. Brief description of some projects carried out: • Structural calculation of GTG Modules during the different phase between construction & installation (as above): Entire Power Plants have been studied and optimized in a modularized solution. • Design of the steelwork structures of the hull section of a “Damage Control Simulator” – fatigue and strength failure check. • Offshore Platform: Structural calculation in order to check the adequacy of loading platform steel structure due to the replacement of existing gangway and crane by a new one. • Mooring Analysis: plan vessel's mooring arrangement and assess the adequacy of the terminal's mooring facilities. • Metocean Data Analysis: Scatter Diagrams and Sea Motions Accelerations calculations considering different vessels type and worldwide route in order to define the better departure months and route for shipping on barge big Gas Turbine Steel Module from possible manufacturer site around the world to the final yard. • Calculation of steel structures fireproofing protections. Definition of required zone to be protected, material type, calculation of steel elements protection with a detail F.E.M. Model of structure (required protection thickness).
Design and calculation for Civil Works and Infrastructures, Maritime, Energy, Oil & Gas Sectors. Work experience: • Structural calculation of a petrochemicals plant with modularized solution (multidisciplinary work). For each module has been modelled both structural steel structure, piping supports and pipe line. • Dynamic analysis for an existing Pumphouse performed with a detail shell elements F.E.M Model. Dynamic check considering water dynamic behaviour. • Steel structure design & verification of existing plant (flue gas line and Denox) with different operative condition. • Power Plant: Structural calculation of steel structure and concrete foundation of major plant structure: (UMC building, Pipe Rack, ADV). Subsequent modularization of Pipe Rack and ADV structure. • Design Check of lifting arrangements (pad-eyes, shackles, slings, spreaderbars) and module steel structure for modularized pipe rack. • Design Check of Yacht structure with detailed FEM analysis (Patran & Nastram). A complete FEM model has been developed to verified both strength and comfort (dynamic vibration check) during cruising. • UMC – Turbine building:Structural calculation of steel structure and concrete foundation design. • Offshore Platform: Structural calculation of offshore platform with the definition of meteocean design conditions. • Offshore Platform: Design check of a crane for offshore platform. • P.E. & P.M. Performed calculation covers all different temporary condition. • Structural calculation of a Steel Module during sea transportation, in particular fatigue damage check during the long voyage – 55 days - from fabrication yard to the site.
