PROJECT: • KKD Statoil Corner Project (FEED, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage, Pipelines and Central Process Unit, 44000 BPSD) ACTIVITIES: • Review of P&IDs, Heat & Material balances, PFDs, Process Design Basis, Safeguarding Diagrams, MSDs, Equipment specifications. • Interface with technical departments and Flow Assurance team (Flowlines and Field Facilities). • Process support for Process Simulation (Hysys) of Central Processing Unit (CPU).
PROJECT: • Oil Sands Project (FEASIBILITY, BASIC, FEED, Pilot plant for Eni proprietary bitumen extraction technology from oil sands) ACTIVITIES: • Developed original process scheme from Eni E&P proprietary technology, starting from lab scale data. Interface with R&D team. Prepared the conceptual study. • Arrangement of Vendors' specific test campaigns to identify suitable equipment to be used for the new process. • Coordinated engineering team for development of basic and front-end package activities (Experimental activities, BEDD definition, Process description, PFDs, Heat and material balance, equipment datasheets, utility summary, P&IDs, plant layout, civil works, electrical and instrumentation & automation documents, HAZOP and HAZID). • Coordinated early EP activities. • Technical interface with Project Management, Vendors and Contractors.
PROJECTS: • Junin5 Mapire downstream complex (FEASIBILITY, grass roots refinery, 300000 BPSD) • Conversion of RHU in EST Project (FEASIBILITY, BASIC, FEED, revamping-reconversion of extra heavy oil treatment unit, 23000 BPSD) • EST Sannazzaro EPC Project (Process studies/verification during EPC phase, EST unit 24000 BPSD) EST (Eni Slurry Technology) is a technology owned by Eni for valorization and deep conversion of extra heavy oil. EST Sannazzaro is the first industrial-scale plant for this technology (24000 BPSD). EST primary process is composed of the following main sections: EST reaction section (high pressure and temperature, micrometric solid catalyst in slurry phase, hydrogenation), High pressure reaction gas section (amine scrubber, gas recompression, fresh hydrogen make-up), Atmospheric distillation section, Vacuum distillation section, Distillate e VGO hydrotreating sections. MAIN ACTIVITIES: • Carried out Hysys simulation for EST Projects and process optimization. • Finalized process design parameters based on simulation models. • Developed PFD’s and Heat & Material Balances for EST Unit. • Carried out equipment sizing, data sheets preparation, hydraulic calculations and development of basic engineering design documentation. • Developed thermal integration studies using Pinch Technology • Actively Participated in HAZID reviews.
MAIN ACTIVITIES: Research activities within a PHD program with Pisa university, Chemical Engineering department, in the research program “Modellazione di processi di formatura per la produzione di manufatti polimerici” (“Modeling of formation processes for the manufacturing of polymeric devices”).
