Mechanical and environmental testing of HV/MV equipment
Test engineer responsible for testing labs, leading test campaigns with the focus on: -Measurement of the flow field and fuel mixing in combustors -Spray diagnostic for supporting the design of liquid fuel nozzles -Flow testing and pressure distribution of turbine/combustor components. Thanks to my multidisciplinary approach, I support also activities in the combustion and heat transfer labs. Actively involved in the integration of GE processes & tools in our test facilities.
Taking care of the planning, preparation and execution of tests finalised to evaluate the performance and validate gas turbine components. My responsibilities: - Design, execution and analyze results of aerodynamic & heat transfer measurements in turbomachinery’s hot gas exposed components - Benchmarking different techniques and continuous improvement of our measuring capabilities - Supervision the design and manufacturing of dedicated test rigs - Liaising with internal customers and giving advice on most effective testing strategy - Up-grade and maintain the laboratory and associate equipment and keeping it compliant with Alstom’s EHS policy
I have been involved in a project commissioned by ANSALDO ENERGIA whose final target dealt with the evaluation of the effect of the stator-rotor purge injection on both, the aerodynamic performances and thermal protection of the endwall of a gas turbine blade.
