Cologne Bonn Region
Since January 2013, I have been ICLEI's Secretary General and Executive Director of our World Secretariat in Bonn, Germany. Previously, I served as ICLEI's Regional Director for Europe (2002-2012) and ICLEI’s Deputy Secretary General (2007-2012). For 16 years, I have worked towards ensuring ICLEI’s quality as a responsible, professional, non-for-profit, local government organization. I am thrilled to see how since its foundation in 1990, ICLEI has developed into the world's leading association of over 2,500 metropolises, cities, and urban regions dedicated to promoting global sustainability through local action. Our Members already represent 25 percent of the world's urban population - let's continue working together to make our economies and infrastructure greener and more sustainable, resilient, resource-efficient, biodiverse, low-carbon, healthy and happy!
