Our award-winning consultancy Career Edge (rebranded in 2019 The Career Agency) started its journey of many steps in 2000. As a 'mum-with-a-baby-on-her-hip' (as I was once described by my first business landlord), I took my marketing degree and my interest in storytelling and founded a start-up helping people turn their careers into compelling resume content that brought their professional background to life. The resume industry was in its infancy. Resume writing was a disruptive service, not recognised by many as a genuine profession and with only a handful of expert writers in Australia. Now there are thousands of businesses in this space with a network of talented writers whom I call friends around the globe. Over a number of years, the business blossomed. I'd found more than a job, I'd found my calling. Over time as my boys grew up I moved from writing resumes on my laptop in play centres to building a burgeoning business. Progressively Career Edge grew from local start-up to highly successful operation that has since supported thousands of job seekers around the world (including lots of other mums-with-babies-on-their-hips) to transition in their careers.
