Understanding the complexity of social and cultural phenomena, security issues and geopolitics is what I am very passionate about. I have a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and a master’s degree in International Relations (with a specialization in International Security). Due to my educational background in both Cultural Studies and Political Science, I have become practiced in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary ways of analyzing the object of inquiry. I have experience in analyzing: geopolitics, policy formulation and implementation, the driving mechanisms of criminal networks and behavior and in examining a variety of social and cultural phenomena (i.a. cultural symbolism, practices of (systemic) racism, gendered-specific issues and debates on cultural integration, for instance (cultural) partialism versus impartialism). In my master’s thesis, I extensively analyzed the intricacies of US Arctic geopolitics in the post-war period and the impact thereof on US-Russian cooperation in the Arctic region. And I have co-authored a published article that studies climate storytelling (CS) as a practice of climate change communication (CCC).
