Ghalia was born in a metropolis next to coastal mangroves of the Arabian sea, raised in the Persian Gulf emirates, and returned to Karachi for her Bachelors in Computer Science and Masters in Business Administration diplomas. A love for deep sea immersion with our more-than-human-kin in the coral reefs in the Philippines Sea and island nations of the Indian Ocean led Ghalia to advocating her corporate employer to a signatory commitment at World Economic Forum’s Global Plastic Action Partnership. After two decades of weaving international knowledge networks in field marketing roles for enterprise value creation across big tech, industrial businesses, investment conglomerates and philantro-capitalists in South Asia, Ghalia migrated to the low-lying lands of the North Sea during the 2020 pandemic. Since then in her self-organising constellation forms she has focused on (un)learning journeys to re-indigenise herself near an estuary of the Meuse and Rhine rivers. Ghalia’s intellectual discernment is focused on reparative paradigms towards socio-ecological collapse resilience. Inherent complicity in modernity finds powerful expression in spoken word recitations reclaiming her ancestral literary heritage. Ghalia and her constellation partners show up in islands of coherence namely Regenerative Marketing Movement, r.3.0, Rivers of the North Sea Delta bioregion - Design School for Regenerating Earth, De Verander School, re(biz), Ontgroei Nederland, 7th Generation Labs, Seismic Questions and The Great Realisation Virtual Reality collective.
Who do I need to become to create the conditions for all beings to express their essence and wealth generating capacity for the living system? Without unlearning business-as-usual marketing, we can produce all the "sustainable" products we want and still consume ourselves to death. Shifting Horizons in business requires radically re-imagining the role of Marketeers. Regenerative Futures may not include a marketing industry that extracts and takes advantage of depleted resources! They may however include creatives who love storytelling and uniting people. What if all marketeers realised and enhanced the the regenerative potential of their capacities? Because we need people to help us unite, tell better stories, change the narratives, ignite movements and Shift Horizons! The regenerative marketing movement invites us to envision a future where marketing transcends traditional boundaries, embracing a role that is nurturing and life-affirming. In this reimagined landscape, marketers are not merely promoters of products but stewards of change, weaving stories that inspire, unite, and mobilise."
