A highly motivated and experienced finance specialist and people leader, Gerrit currently leads two teams of 3 Team Leaders and 26 Analysts in CBA's Business Banking Chief Controls Office. Born and educated in Germany, Gerrit commenced his Finance career in Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank, before migrating to Australia in 1995 and joining the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Within Commonwealth Bank, Gerrit developed his broad banking experience in Retail Banking, Risk Management, and Business and Corporate Banking over the past 29 years. After his extensive experience in various Risk Management streams at Commonwealth Bank, spreading over 10 years, combined with 10 years as a Corporate Relationship Executive and Sales Leader, Gerrit is now managing two Teams in CBA's Operational Risk Area. Having been put in charge to manage and expand a National Team of Analysts covering High Volume Frontline Tasks, Gerrit was asked to establish another National Team covering High Volume Line 1 Risk Tasks. The Team was implemented successfully and is now delivering Operational Risk solutions across the Business Banking Division. His strong desire to help CBA's customers, his long term experience in the finance industry and his passion for the job, help Gerrit in assisting his team delivering innovative banking solutions to the Bank's customers. His ultimate aim is for the CBA to act as a partner to their customers’ businesses, adding value to the relationship and helping his team members achieving their goals. In 2003 and 2008 respectively, Gerrit complimented his Batchelor of Economics degree, with a Diploma in Mortgage Lending at the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA), being awarded a National Dux, and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment at the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA), of which he became a Fellow member. Outside of work Gerrit enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, the beach and exploring rural Victoria on his motorbike.

I'm honoured to lead a national team of 23 highly skilled, professional Financial Analyst, ensuring the Bank's consistent approach at Risk Rating their commercial lending customers. We support the Commercial Banking, Major Client Group, and Regional and Agri Banking segments in the Bank, and deliver efficient, reliable and value adding outcomes to the front line.
Leading a Team of 17 Relationship Executives to support the SME customers of the Bank, turning over more that $1m pa, with all their banking needs, including Business and Home Lending, Transactional Banking Solutions, Asset Finance, Trade and Global Markets solutions.
