Ghent, Flemish Region, Belgium
I have studied at four different universities during my degree in Civil Engineering and my MSc Civil Engineering (Máster de Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos). Thanks to those opportunities, I have learnt how to deal with many different situations in different countries and how to overcome challenges in a fast, efficient and proper way. After I had finished my degree (June 2016) I traveled for a year in South America making volunteering jobs and helping people that needed, literally, a hand. That experience filled me enormously with all the knowledge I acquired, the places I saw and the people I met. When I returned to Spain, I decided to get enrolled in the Master of Civil Engineering, making an Erasmus at the ULB, ameliorating my French and learning how work in central Europe was definitely an enriching experience. When I finished my master, I got the opportunity to work with Vuentica, a small start-up consultancy company based in Belgium, which gave me the chance start in a worldwide project, to grow as a person and to be flexible while working at the same time. Nowadays, I am working as a Project Engineer for the Offshore Windfarm of Le Tréport at DEME, the pioneer enterprise for Offshore Engineering. I am at the moment offshore where the real job happens. I feel comfortable being in the field and where action takes place.

Master en Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos During this period I had the great opportunity to spend an academic year (2019/20) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) where I made a Master Thesis together with the company "BC Materials" about 'the use of recycled aggregates in earthen constructions'. I understood, by doing this research, that Sustainability, Innovation and Recycling need to be enhanced if we want to live a better future. That Belgian Erasmus experience gave me a different view on how to confront challenges that may arise.
Master Thesis combined with an internship at BC Materials during my Erasmus scolarship at the ULB. I conducted the study of the use of recycled materials from construction debris in earthen constructions. Laboratory tests and research on the use of the recycled materials were carried out. The results obtained were positive, giving a boost to these type of materials for their use in both earth constructions and more conventional ones.
